The following are some of our ongoing prayer needs:

• That God would continue to lead us to the right full-time staff parents and children for our children’s rescue home in Bungoma.
• Long-term teachers in Mombasa. Right now we’ve had a high turn over rate at our Excellence Rising school there and are praying for teachers who will commit for 3-5 solid years.
• Grace for the transition out of prostitution for the girls we work with in Mombasa
• Peace and safety along the eastern border of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Protection for the people from rape, conflict and abductions.
• Wisdom as we move into territory that many organizations are fleeing and grace as we make our homes there.
• Connections with just people who are grounded in truth in both the churches and schools.
• Increased volunteers to help with administration as well as fundraising
• Direction and hope for the boys we work with in the youth prisons in Ecuador
• Protection, health and unity among missionaries, staff and project workers
• Heaven's resources to accomplish all that God has called us to do.

• Time - Global Children’s Movement is built on the hours of many volunteers who donate their time to see hope invade the lives of the poor, destitute and broken around the world!
  • If you have a trade or special skill you’d like to use whether in your own backyard or ours overseas, please contact us with your ideas!
  • We are also in special need of grant writers who are able to donate their time to help us collect funds for major projects.

  If you’d like to donate specifically to some of our most urgent needs:
  
  • Two vehicles – In Congo for safe transportation to and from the bush and in Kenya to transport our children to and from school as well as meet our basic needs in the village.
  • Supplies- Arts and crafts, toys, books etc. for our children in eastern Africa.
  • New classroom building for our Excellence Rising school in Congo.
  • Complete the building of two children's homes at our Rescue Center in Kenya.
• Materials - If you or your family would like the experience of personally giving these items, we are currently looking for the following items to take with us to our projects for our children, women, staff and missionaries.

Children’s Home

A haven of peace for an orphan or street child.
To empower, to equip and to love.

Build a house! Housing approx. eight kids –two house parents-one living room-dining room and kitchen from the ground up costs a total of $40 000. This includes labor and materials, start to finish.

Adopt a current home! Presently we have two homes built but only one able to house children. For $900/month you can feed, educate, transport, provide medical care, etc for 8 orphans and both house parents. If you can’t provide the entire month’s operational expenses, we can find a co-sponsor to partner with your monthly donation for the home!

Adopt a party! We believe that celebrating and enjoying significant moments in life helps to restore and bring hope for a brighter future. Whether a child’s birthday party, a holiday or special occasion you can “adopt a party” with a one time or monthly donation for our children in the rescue center.

Excellence Rising Schools (Kenya | CONGO)

Excellence Rising Schools were designed to not only educate high-risk children but to reach communities. Along with everyday education for kids, parents also are able to attend development classes; learning about health, nutrition, AIDS/HIV and Loving on Purpose curriculum. Currently, full monthly sponsorship to adopt the teachers, staff and small maintenance needs is:

• $500/month in Kenya
• $600/month in Goma, DRC
• $400/month for our developing Excellence Rising School in Congo’s red zone!

Teacher’s Salary

Would you, your school or business like to empower the next generation of leaders? By sponsoring a teacher, you can educate a nation. It’s been proven that simply by educating girls in impoverished areas through the fifth grade; infant mortality drops significantly after a single generation, sustainable population growth occurs and malnutrition decreases. Currently all of our teachers are making a starter monthly salary of $50/month. By January 2010 we will begin paying our teacher’s in Goma, DRC $100/month and teacher’s in Kenya $70/month.
